Ukraine interested in developing ties with South Korea: PM
Ukraine wants to develop bilateral ties with the Republic of Korea (ROK), Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Thursday.
"It's time to negotiate about launching a direct flight between Kiev and Seoul and develop our relations in a visa-free area. We are interested in simplifying the visa regime between our countries as much as possible," Azarov said when meeting his ROK counterpart, Kim Hwang-sik.
Azarov said bilateral trade should be enhanced, expressing Kiev's interest in the flow of high-tech ROK investment into the Ukrainian economy, particularly in agriculture, energy and metallurgy.
Azarov suggested holding the first meeting of Ukraine-ROK Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation in December.
The prime minister also said Ukraine appreciated cooperation with ROK in culture, education and sports and suggested the two countries hold cultural exchange activities.
Kim, who is on a three-day visit to Ukraine, was positive about the development of bilateral relations.
